Race Against Time

Staring at the world through my rearview

January 25, 2012

Last semester of college…yesterday was my last first day of school. I’m anxious to graduate and hopefully land a full-time job. I know a lot of people say, “You’re going to miss school when you’re done.” The hell I will! I’m mentally exhausted and just don’t want to go to school any more. I’m sick and tired of homework, tests, projects, and all that crap. I’ve been going to school non-stop since preschool, no breaks. Yeah, I messed up the first couple years of college, taking classes I didn’t need and failing classes, but thankfully, I had a reality check and have been on top of school the past few years. If it weren’t for my spontaneous decision to double major, I would’ve been done with school last semester. Either way, I just gotta suck it up for 4 more months and then I’m free!

I’m already looking forward to spring break even though the semester just started because me and Elisa are going to SoCal for the week. I haven’t been to Disneyland since I was like 10 years old, so I’m anxious to go back. Plus, it’s been a while since I went to LA just to hang out with the family. Our to-do list consists of:

  • Disneyland
  • Disney’s California Adventure
  • Universal Studios (I HAVE to see The Simpsons section and ride The Simpsons 3D ride!)
  • Six Flags Magic Mountain (maybe)
  • San Diego Zoo

We’re also planning to try and bunch of different restaurants! I think Elisa’s most excited for that =P We’ve always wanted to go to the San Diego Zoo, so we’re basically dedicating a whole day to drive a couple hours from LA to San Diego and back just for the zoo. I heard it’s HUGE and I want to see this for myself. Plus, I love going to zoos in general because I love animals. It’s going to be a nice chill vacation, and should be somewhat inexpensive, especially compared to our O’ahu trip last summer. Our expenses pretty much include: rental car, food, and theme parks. My cousin and his girlfriend have an extra room in their apartment and is nice enough to let us stay there for a whole week.

For the time being, school is still my #1 priority and I can’t trip at the finish line. But video games is (and has always been) a huge part of my life and there’s so many games! I’m currently juggling Forza Motorsport 4 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for now, but there’s a few games I really want to get:

  • Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
  • Final Fantasy XIII-2 (January 31)
  • Twisted Metal (February 14)
  • Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City (March 20)

…just to name a few. I recently beat Batman: Arkham City and damn, that sure was a fun game. I’m probably going to go back and replay it again later. Well, I rambled on enough…time to get back to Forza and complete a few more races before it gets too late (it’s already 2:30am already).
